QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS CONCERNING COMPOST AND COMPOSTING

'Finished compost' is a rich humus-like topsoil abundant in the nutrients and organic matter necessary for conditioning the soil.

Why is it called 'finished compost'?

'Finished compost' refers to the compost material after it has completed a two-phase organic composting process.

During the initial phase, heat is generated by the natural decomposition of the material sanitizing the material and allowing for a faster rate of decomposition.

Following this phase the material then undergoes an "aerobic composting process" wherein the organic material is frequently turned and exposed to lower-temperatures allowing the material to decompose at a slower rate while allowing the product to stabilize.

How do I know if I am receiving 'finished compost'?
To ensure that our customers receive only 'finished compost' in the application of Nitro-Sorb™, at Nitro-Sorb™ Farming Technology we conduct our own inspection of the compost facility and we inspect the material before combining the compost with other ingredients. Nitro-Sorb™ is produced under the strict standards of our EQM system.
