QUESTIONS
AND ANSWERS CONCERNING THE BENEFICIAL USE OF NITRO-SORB™
Although
the organic matter contained in Nitro-Sorb™ does provide an abundance of
plant nutrients, Nitro-Sorb™ is not meant to act as the primary source of
nutrients but is designed to improve nitrogen efficiency introduced by commercial
fertilization and manure applications, as well as improving soil conditions
for better soil fertility.
How
does it regulate the nitrogen levels?
The
components of Nitro-Sorb™ work together to improve the porosity of the soil.
With improved moisture retention, the clay component of the paper fibre biosolids
is able to absorb any excess nitrogen not recovered by the crop. This excess
nitrogen is then released at a timely rate during the crop growth period, thereby
lessoning the amount of fertilizer required to maintain the needed crop nutrient
while minimizing the chances of nitrate leaching from the root zone of the crop.
Nitro-Sorb™
is safe for all crops grown but only in accordance with sound agronomic practices
that match nitrogen availability with individual crop requirements.
Are
there any restrictions as to what crops can receive Nitro-Sorb™ and what crops
can't?
How
are my costs reduced?
With
proper management, Nitro-Sorb™ helps to utilize fertilizer more efficiently
and when less fertilizer is required the costs of added applications are reduced.
When
can Nitro-Sorb™ be applied?
Nitro-Sorb™
should be applied during the growing season, typically from March to November
and timing will vary slightly depending on location, soil type, the type of
crop being grown, and as permitted by regulatory agencies in the context of
other fertilization.
Does
the application of Nitro-Sorb™ comply with land-based requirements for agronomic
use of nutrients?
Yes.
Using an accredited lab analysis with NMAN, Nitro-Sorb™ Farming Technology adheres
to recognized agronomic practices within the guidelines of the Nutrient Management
Act.
